2020 Summer Olympics Go for Gold

2020 Summer Olympics Go for Gold

This year, the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan could be the “brand” to watch—literally. The 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea had the lowest viewership in recorded history and it was broiled in controversy after Russia’s doping ban. To help rectify this, the International Olympic Committee is attempting to attract a younger demographic by introducing new sports, such as surfing, skateboarding and climbing in the 2020 Olympics. While the 2020 Games have not been without controversy, the IOC is hoping that everything gets forgiven when the world’s best athletes like Simone Biles and Katie Ledecky take the stage (or podium in this case).
