Lucky Charms Adds New Marshmallow for First Time in 10 Years

Lucky Charms Adds New Marshmallow for First Time in 10 Years

No one knows exactly how General Mills deems an artifact a “lucky charm”, but we do know it doesn’t happen often. The last time the beloved cereal brand (which has been around for over 50 years) added a new marshmallow was a decade ago with the addition of the hourglass in 2008. Apparently the hourglass was not lucky enough though because it’s being phased out in favor of something more magical.

Lucky Charms recently announced the permanent addition of the new magical unicorn marshmallow. According to General Mills, this is the first-ever marshmallow inspired and created by kids. The cereal will continue to feature eight “lucky charm” marshmallows—hearts, stars, horseshoes, clovers, blue moons, rainbows, red balloons, and now magical unicorns.

Side note: Did you know there’s a Lucky Charms-Frosted Flakes fusion in existence? True story. Check it out here.
