According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, pet ownership is at its highest since 1982—with 57% of U.S. homes having a furry friend. Per the American Pet Products Association, over $72 billion was spent on pets in 2018. To get a piece of that biscuit, Meredith Corporation teamed up with Fear Free (a pet-centric company) for Happy Paws, a magazine about pets. “Together we’ll celebrate, protect and nurture that special connection we call the human-animal bond and harness the healing power of pets, bringing joy and comfort to both ends of the leash,” said Fear Free founder Dr. Marty Becker about the publication’s mission.
