Bud Light Runs League of Legends Finals on Wind Power

The League of Legends Championship Series Finals is one of the largest gaming events every year, reaching a peak of 73.8 million viewers in 2021. Bud Light, the sponsor of this event, has decided that the next finals will not only be a display of gaming skill, but also of green energy. To advertise Anheuser-Busch’s environmentally friendly zero carb beer, Bud Light NEXT, the brand is taking these finals in a wholly new direction. One of the most celebrated gaming events in the world will be operated using exclusively wind energy. This brand effort celebrates Earth Day while demonstrating how green energy can support massive events.

Bud Light NEXT has been seeking to connect with Millennials and Gen Z through their joint concern over the environment, and this event is just one more step in that journey. Bud Light NEXT is created with recyclable materials and environmentally conscious delivery methods. Now with the League of Legends Championship Series, the brand hopes to connect with the gaming community to demonstrate its commitment to protecting the planet. Will that mission prove fruitful?

What do you think of Bud Light’s environmental message?
