The Nightmare Before Christmas isn’t the only twistedly beautiful holiday film by Tim Burton. Before Jack, Edward Scissorhands graced theaters weeks before Christmas in 1990. Due to Edward’s (played by Johnny Depp) unruly look and Burton’s reputation to creep people out, some may see this movie as more of a halloween-themed film, but the entire premise of the movie is to find out where snow comes from. *Spoiler Alert* Edward ends up being the soul snow-maker for the town the story takes place in. With the snow-filled story, the early December release date and wintery, snow-covered VHS sleeve –Edward Scissorhands clearly uses the Christmas holiday as it’s primary marketing message.
