Maple Strikes Again with KFC’s Chicken & Waffles

Maple Strikes Again with KFC’s Chicken & Waffles

It’s true—we’ve been touting the viability of Maple as the next Pumpkin Spice for years. And now you’re starting to see the influence Speaking Human has on the world of marketing.

In KFC’s latest limited-time promotion, the fried chicken franchise is partnering with Mrs. Butterworth to deliver something delightfully unexpected—Kentucky Fried Chicken & Waffles topped with maple syrup.

The ad spot features a well-known dance number from the movie Dirty Dancing, as the Colonel (played by Craig Fleming) lifts an animated bottle of Mrs. Butterworth maple syrup into the air while the song “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” plays.

There’s no doubt that chicken & waffles is a perfect culinary match, but it is equally important to note that innovative offerings like this are what drive regular and renewed interest in even the most established brands, like KFC.

What do you think of this limited-time promo and the Dirty Dancing ad from KFC?

  • SOURCE: YouTube
  • BRANDS: KFC & Mrs. Butterworth
  • WHY YOU WILL LOVE IT: Because you believe in maple as much as we do—and this ad proves us both right.
