The One Where the FRIENDS Reunion Inspired Marketing Messages

The One Where the FRIENDS Reunion Inspired Marketing Messages

Just in case you missed it—all five original cast members of the television show FRIENDS agreed to come back 15 years after the last episode aired to relive the iconic series. As FRIENDS fans anticipated the HBO TV reunion, many brands recognized the potential that surrounded the show and its comeback. The reunion gained a massive following, with as many as 42,000 mentions on Twitter the Tuesday before the air date. Companies such as Starbucks, Venmo, Pepsi, and even life insurance companies used FRIENDS in their marketing on social media and in their advertising campaigns.

A couple of our favorite messages include:

  • “We’ll be there for you, with coffee” – Starbucks
  • “When it hasn’t been your day, your week, or even your year, we’ll be there for you” – Kotak life insurance

Now comes the true test—which of these brands will help you move your massive couch?

  • BRAND: F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Starbucks & Kotak
